Sermons
Sermons are more than speeches. They are that element in the service that helps people connect their daily lives with, and make meaning of, their continuing relationship with the God about whom they have heard in Scripture. Sermons then point people towards the culmination of the liturgy, the consecration and reception of the sacrament in which a they take God’s presence into their bodies and out into the world. Each sermon addresses an occasion. Each reflects the preacher’s concerns and those of the community on a particular day and in a particular place. In this way a sermon is really more of an event than simply a text.
Please feel welcome to look through our sermon archive. Please also feel welcome, when you are in the neighborhood, to come and experience one in person!
